Balloon Occlusion Catheters for Coronary Sinus Occlusion
CMI has worked with MiraCor GmbH to design and develop a catheter capable of temporarily occluding the coronary sinus in post infarct patients to test a novel concept called PICSO developed by Professor Werner Mohl of the AKH, Vienna Austria. PICSO (Percutaneous Intermittent Coronary Sinus Occlusion) is a technique developed by Professor Mohl and working together with CMI, clinical studies are underway. MiraCor utilized CMI for all of its catheter development and regulatory needs.
