Advanced Cardiac Therapeutics, Inc (ACT)
Working from the start with the ACT team, CMI made early prototypes and performed the basic R&D activities helping to incorporate ACT’s patented Microwave Radiometry technology into standard and irrigated Cardiac Ablation catheters. ACT’s system can not only heat and ablate arrhythmogenic tissue, but can simultaneously measure temperature at depth in the tissue. In the competitive world of cardiac ablation, ACT is unique in its approach to ablation by giving much needed real time feedback to the physician about effective catheter/tissue contact, effective energy delivery and lesion creation and the safety of the ablation . This technology provides the physician an assessment of the effectiveness of the treatment of such disorders as Atrial Fibrillation in real time, during the procedure.
Having recently completed their funding round, ACT continues to use CMI’s team to further develop the product as they approach their first clinical case later this year.
